LOL so two gas refineries destroyed, shimp and oyster bays and grounds distrubed, and entire city flooded with toxic waste because the state and local governments didnt fix the levees they receive billions for? LOL I guess my friend has made hundreds of thouands of dollars by cleaning the city of oil, gas, and other toxic materials in the city of New Orleans. LOL You need to do some home work freind. Enviromantal disaster still continues in NO and now add to that and oil slick the size of Rhode Island that could have been stopped was ignored for political gain by this administration.

I wonder if the residents of the rain weary New England states realize that the National Flood Insurance Program's authority to operate expired at Midnight on Sunday, March 28, 2010. Congress did not pass an extension of the Flood Program before it adjourned until 4/12/2010 for Easter Break. New and renewal flood policies cannot be issued until after Congress votes to extend the program. It's too bad the rain and flooding don't stop while Congress is on vacation, too. Maybe Congressmen could spend their Easter vacation helping people in Rhode Island fill sandbags since they just allowed the flood insurance program to expire!
Just more.... "Change you can believe in !"

We tried using it over this last weekend when we were going to be in another city. I think people are going to have to get used to it. I think the default distance should be set at 50 miles or so. We did get one response from someone who said that they were less than an hour from us. We were going to be in Rhode Island while the couple that responded was in Michigan.

"The Rhode Island legislature overrode a gubernatorial veto of a medical marijuana law Tuesday afternoon by an overwhelming margin, paving the way for state-licensed medical marijuana shops to begin operating. The House voted 68-0 for the pot measure and the senate moved it minutes later by a 35-3 count.
Once the law takes effect, the state will be the first in the nation to have one officially licensed nonprofit center selling marijuana. Over time, the state will license further nonprofit dispensaries.
The bill got a boost in the state after a much publicized incident in which a pot dealer beat up a medical marijuana patient. Proponents of the bill argued that patients shouldn't have to deal with unregulated, unlicensed drug dealers, but deserved a more orderly system.
In March, New Mexico became the first state to grant a state license to a medical marijuana producer.
"We are seeing a historic shift to allowing state-licensed, regulated medical marijuana production and distribution," said Karen O'Keefe of the Marijuana Policy Project after the vote."

The wife and I are taking an extended vacation during the summer of 2009. We will be traveling through the following states: East Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, possibly Indiana, Ohio, Northern West Virginia, New York, Connecticut as well as possibly Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Will be in the New England area for a week to ten days. Then will head South through New York, New Jersey, North Delaware, Maryland, Virginia ( Norfolk and Va. Beach Area, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and back into East Texas. Sure would be nice to meet a few people that are into the lifestyle. If interested, please contact us and let us know. We will open personal photos to those that are serious in their replies.

My secret santa bought me a fascinating book entitled Wild Women who Run with the Wolves. Fascinating book. I also just read a wonderful biography entitled American Jezebel, the uncommon life of Anne Hutchinson. She is a FASCINATING woman. She was a Puritan who totally broke all female rules in a time when women were basically vessels to give birth to men. She helped found Harvard University and the state of Rhode Island. An unbelievable woman who is never spoken of in American history. We know Columbus who found Hispaniola but we never learn of Anne Hutchinson who was a true female pioneer. These are 2 fabulous books, especially if you love reading about women's issues.
